Calculate Goods & Services Tax (GST/VAT) inclusive and exclusive amounts with customizable rates.

This GST calculator helps you work out the Goods and Services Tax on any invoice amount in seconds. It supports both directions of calculation: adding GST to a base price to get the inclusive total, and removing GST from an inclusive price to recover the base amount. When the supply is intra-state, the tax is split equally into CGST and SGST; when the supply is inter-state, the full amount is treated as IGST. It is useful for shop owners quoting prices to customers, freelancers and consultants preparing invoices, small business accountants verifying GST returns, and anyone who simply wants to know how much tax is embedded in a bill.
All calculations are performed in your browser, and the tool includes the standard Indian GST slabs of 0%, 0.25%, 3%, 5%, 12%, 18% and 28% along with a custom option for any other rate. Results include the base amount, total GST, per-component split, and the final payable amount, all formatted in Indian Rupees with two decimal places.
A GST-exclusive amount is the price of the goods or service before tax is added; the customer pays this amount plus GST. A GST-inclusive amount is the final price paid by the customer and already contains the GST. Use "Add GST" to go from exclusive to inclusive, and "Remove GST" to go the other way.
For a sale within the same state, the GST is split equally into CGST (Central GST) and SGST (State GST). For a sale between two different states, a single IGST (Integrated GST) is charged at the full rate. This calculator applies the split automatically based on the supply type you select.
To add GST, the tax is (rate ÷ 100) × base amount, and the total is base + tax. To remove GST from an inclusive amount, the base is (inclusive ÷ (1 + rate ÷ 100)) and the tax is inclusive − base. The tool displays the exact formula used for every calculation.
